Do Not Accumulate is a net.art series of imagined CBDC banknotes inscribed on Bitcoin. The sub-series the Digital Euro is a self-contained HTML note that quietly loses one unit of value every month across a 21-month cycle. The EU flag becomes an eye watching every transaction, its senders and its recipients. Behind it, clouds dissipate against the stars, an echo of the value slipping from the bill and the legislation being drafted behind the public's back. The note promotes itself in the voice of propaganda: fifty-five rotating warnings, fifty-five ways a currency can be weaponized, each one reframed as feature, convenience, or security. Twenty-one editions, twenty-one value states, twenty-one months, each mirroring Bitcoin's own hard cap of twenty-one million coins. D.N.A. spells Do Not Accumulate. Demurrage is its inner code.
